I grew up in a house of books. My dad is a English teacher/ aspiring songwriter/ amateur poet and read me Roald Dahl and The Hobbit. My Mum studied English and read me The Famous Five (taking care to point out the anti-feminist subtext) through to Austen. I studied English at Uni and ploughed my way through the ages - Shakespeare, Wilde, Spencer, Fielding, Rochester - taking time out to secretly read a little Harry Potter. Now I'd like to recommend you books - or merely write about them for my own enjoyment.
